A new car assembly line will be officially opened on Saturday at the Iran Khodro Khorasan plant with president Ahmadinejad among the guests.
Website iranmania.com, citing local TV news broadcasts, said new car body and paint facilities, costing US$140.6m, enable IKK to build 45 vehicles an hour.
"The plant's production capacity will reach 100,000 vehicles a year by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (20 March, 2009)," plant MD Mohammad Mehdi Siadat said.
